Beltone Community Outreach Initiatives

At Beltone Southside one of our goals is to bring hearing to everyone: not just the people who come into our office. There are many ways we accomplish this, some of which include offering appointments at retirement communities, attending health fairs, giving presentations at senior centers, and by sponsoring the City of Chesapeake 55 and better program.

We spend time every week visiting different retirement communities and nursing homes to deliver hearing tests and service the hearing aids of people who do not drive, or for whatever reason cannot come into our office. Many communities have regularly scheduled appointments every month with our staff. Some of these communities include: Atlantic Shores, Westminster Canterbury, The Crossings, Lake Prince Woods, and Lighthouse Pointe.

Recently, the staff at Beltone Virginia Beach treated the residents of Westminster Canterbury to a wine and cheese social to thank them for their patronage, and to meet new residents. Beltone offered on site hearing tests, check-ups and adjustments to everyone free of charge.

The Senior Advocate group regularly puts on health fairs all over Hampton Roads, and we always enjoy attending. The Chesapeake Sheriff’s Office also puts on an annual Senior Support Services Seminar in April that we attend every year. Often churches and other communities will invite us for their health fairs as well.

We always enjoy giving talks and presentations about hearing health. Our Portsmouth office recently teamed up with the Portsmouth Senior Station to bring information and free hearing tests to residents who enjoy this senior center.

Lastly, we love sponsoring fun events for seniors! Beltone Hearing Aids Southside has been a sponsor of the City of Chesapeake 55 and better program for the last two years and we have loved every minute. This awesome program offers events from Pig Pickins to the Formal Affair dance. They also hold other exciting events throughout the year that are a ton of fun!
